Busy Buddies' well trained staff helps to guide your child through his or her developmental stages and promotes learning by doing. This requires active thinking and experimenting to find out how things work and to learn first hand about the world we live in. Busy Buddies believes that play provides the foundation for academic or "school learning".
Busy Buddies' program is designed to enhance children's natural curiosity. In their early years, Children explore the world around them by using all of their senses (touching, tasting, hearing, smelling and seeing). Children also learn about size, shape, color and physical properties by using real materials such as blocks, paint, playdough, measuring cups, etc. In time they learn to use one object to stand for another, which is the beginning of symbolic thinking. It is the preparation children need before they begin to learn highly abstract symbols such as letters (which are symbols for sounds) and numbers (which are symbols for number concepts). Busy Buddies also encourages the exploration of different ethnic cultures through foods, music, language, books and holidays. All children up to the age of 12 years old are welcome on a scheduled or drop-in basis. Children must be preregistered and immunizations are required to be up to date on each child attending. A well balanced breakfast, lunch, and two snacks daily, are included.
