Introduction

This website represents the joint efforts of John Druffel and Greg Druffel, driven by the old philosophical question "What good are photographs in a box?"

To date, most of the photos shown are from collections taken by the late W.O. (Bill) Druffel and B.F. (Bennie) Druffel during a time frame from about the turn of the last century
to about 1940.  Many were resurrected from black and white negatives, some glass.   These are family collections and about events in the lives of the respective families.   But it is the dream and intent of this site to cover any families living in the community during this time span.  If you possess such photographs and would like to see them displayed here, please do not hesitate to contact us.

As server space is limited and more photos are in process all the time, we expect the fare offered here to to change from time to time.  Please do come back now and then to check on us.

We realize that many of the pictures are of less than perfect quality and some of the negatives are scratched and damaged.  Less durable early photographic technology and up to ninety years in a box will do that.  They are offered far more for their content, which we feel is a treasure.   On the other hand it is possible that with today's computer graphics technology they might just be more viewable now than in the past.
