Barry
E. Mas'son
At a young age Barry developed a creative desire which manifested itself artistically in the form of sketches and drawings. Later, he began to carve wood and soapstone, further honing his artistic skill.
In 1972, at the age of 31, Barry attended Burnley's Commercial Art School in Seattle, Washington. He spent the next three years freelancing and traveling to art shows throughout the Northwest. It was during this period of education and work that he refined his love of painting to include oils, acrylics, tempera and his favorite medium: watercolor.
Through the combination of these tools and his artistic talent Barry has learned to project a unique realism in his painting of homesteads and antique vehicles which reveal his desire to preserve the past for the enjoyment of all. In addition, his keen eye and love of nature is shown in an array of impressive depictions of wildlife - wolves, deer and other animals which appear to come alive on canvas.
Until recently Barry worked only under commission but has decided to expand into print so that larger numbers of people may experience and enjoy his art.
